Genuine cast iron UK red phone box circa 1936-1970.
This is an iconic symbol of Britain and available for sale now in Australia and NZ. This item was originally commissioned in the UK to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of King George V. and was designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. The “Jubilee Kiosk” (K6) appeared on the streets of the UK in 1936 and became the first standard kiosk to be introduced nation wide. It is recognised as the iconic symbol of Britain and protected by the Department of Environment and British Heritage. Some of these historic landmarks have now acquired the status of “Grade II Listed Buildings” ensuring their survival for future generations. However some have made their way to Australia in fair to good condition for immediate sale or awaiting a full restoration. Suit collector of unusual or UK fare, Landscape Gardeners, Interior Designers, Pubs and Clubs, Regional Town Councils.
